Maybe, maybe if you asked

That life isn’t sweet like candy,

But is bittersweet,

Coated with thorns and brandy.

Maybe, maybe if you knew,

That words are never enough

To put you on a pedestal

And  you could never tell it was all a bluff.

Maybe, maybe if you loved

That it is just a mere emotion

For temporal moments

When you are deeply shoved.

Maybe, maybe all you lived was a lie,

That life itself wasn’t never meant to be

Believing in all that was sly

Maybe, maybe.. you live just to die.
