Relationships..!

I am honestly so disturbed by how many of the quotes on
this site with hundreds of thousands of notes seem
to be glorifying abusive relationships.
I’m sure I’m not immune to having fallen into the trap before
of writing as though what is actually genuine
and horrifying abuse is really just the heat of passion,
but I try very very hard now to be more alert about these things.
I beg all of you: reconsider. Yes, your blogs are your own spaces.
They belong to you and they exist for your expression.
However, if you are aware you have a mass following,
whether you like it or not, you are going to have people, people
that may be young and influential, hanging on your every word.
Be conscious of that.
Please, please, be conscious of that.
The next time you read something that is equating
physical/emotional abuse to fiery, passionate,
idyllic love, reconsider.
It has the potential to be so devastatingly harmful.
Even if you yourself can separate the writing from the reality,
please be sensitive toward other people’s situations
and experiences.
They might be fighting a battle that you’re suggesting is romantic.
